Obituary of Leonard J. Jankunas D.D.S.

Please share a memory of Leonard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dr. Leonard J. Jankunas, of Elmont, NY, passed away on March 17, 2023 at age 76. “Lenny,” as he was known, is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys, his children, Joy (Greg) and Hope (Jeremy), and his grandchildren, Landon, Lia, and Jaxson. Lenny will be remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who was always ready with a story, treat, or a helping hand on a difficult project. He will be remembered by his patients as a dedicated dentist who took his time to make every patient feel important. His absence will be felt during the countless small moments that make up our daily lives: cooking omelets for weekend brunch, listening to Al Green songs, watching the first pitch of Mets Opening day, planting the annual vegetable garden, carving the Thanksgiving turkey, and putting up the Christmas tree. We look forward to watching his unique spirit live on through his grandchildren, who loved their “JaJa” very much.
