For over 100 years, Krauss Funeral home has been a tradition to the families of Franklin Square, Elmont, and the surrounding communities. Over the last century, family values, religious beliefs, and professional service have been the most important parts of our business. Whether holding a traditional funeral or a private cremation, our guidance will help you in making your decisions at difficult times. All arrangements will be handled by our professional and dedicated staff of directors. To provide you with the utmost comfort, we have decorated our chapels to give our guests a more home-like feeling.

At Krauss Funeral Home, we have a commitment to the community that we serve. Krauss continually supports the local churches and is actively involved with almost every local organization in the area. Our Directors take pride in being members and officers of these organizations and stand behind their belief in excellence and commitment to the community.

We Are Proud To Be One Of The Longest Enduring,
Family-Owned Businesses On Long Island...

Krauss Funeral Home is among the oldest businesses in western Nassau County, founded in 1910 by Charles H. Krauss, who served as the proprietor until 1953. On June 19, the business was sold to Arnold T. Christensen. The community-minded Christensen family has remained associated with the growth and development of Krauss Funeral Home ever since. In September of 1962, Arnold C. Christensen, son of Arnold T. Christensen, became a licensed Funeral Director and assumed his duties at the firm. Father and son worked closely together until Arnold T. Christensen's death in September 1981 at the age of 76.

On December 11, 1980, a fire severely damaged the funeral home. The building was promptly renovated in the home-like style that is and always has been its trademark. Following the death of Arnold Christensen, his wife, Irene Christensen assumed leadership of the business. As of the summer of 2020, she sold the funeral home to Stephen P. Graziano. Stephen has worked at Krauss Funeral Home for 25 years and is now the proud owner of Krauss Funeral Home. Stephen continues to provide Franklin Square and the surrounding communities with the traditions and care that Krauss Funeral Home was founded upon.
