Richard Mahler, Richie, passed away on January 31, 2023. Born on October 8, 1948 to parents Willard and Kathryn Mahler. A loving marriage of 51 years to his high school sweetheart, Joan. Father to Jeannine (Emanuel) and Deborah (Leva). Loving father in law to Steven and Marc. Devoted grandfather to Ashley, Caitlin, Sophia and Sienna. Richie was a lifelong resident of Elmont. He volunteered his time as a volunteer fireman since his early 20’s. Richie was a family man and always put his family first. Richie was always available to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed yearly family trips to Woodloch. Richie truly enjoyed being with his granddaughters. Whether it was visiting Boston College, watching tennis matches, soccer games and concerts, Richie never missed out on any activity that they participated in. A loving husband, Richie always had Joan by his side. They were truly inseparable
