Obituary of Frederick B Saporito

Please share a memory of Frederick to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Occupation, hobbies, interests, community involvement, etc.: Veterans United States Army, NYPD Mounted Police Officer. Fred was a loving husband, Father of five, Father-in-law, Grandfather of 15, Son, Uncle, Brother, Brother-in-law, Uncle and Godfather. Three months ago, became a Great Grandfather for the first time to Liliana. He was a master carpenter, electrician, mechanic, and a jack of all trades. A true perfectionist! He loved being out in the nice weather and would enjoy going to the pool with his wife and being with his friend's singing poolside in the Doo-Wop corner. He especially enjoyed large family gatherings. So many wonderful trips over the years with his Sister-in-laws, Brother-in -laws, and lifelong friends. He would help anyone in need and had such caring neighbors. I know he truly appreciated their friendship for over 50 years. Memorable moments: Married 61 loving years to Dorothy Renewed vows for their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed a surprise celebration with his family and friends. He was truly humbled by the 80th birthday blast, held in his honor in 2019.This was a big milestone for him. Fred enjoyed all five of his children’s and two of his grandchildren’s weddings, very much. He was particularly proud of all of the educational and professional achievements of all of the grandchildren in the Saporito/Romeo family and took tremendous pride in knowing every one of the grandchildren were raised “right.” He will be with all of us in spirit at all of the upcoming weddings and magical days ahead and will dance in celebration up in heaven. He was so happy that he and his bride were able to attend and enjoy the four recent wedding engagement parties, all of the Christmas, Easter and sweet sixteen, communion and confirmation parties, Father’s Day bashes and just seeing all of us together. He was so proud to hear of the impending birth of a second Great Grandchild, expected to arrive in April. He will carry each and every one of you in his heart, forever. Fred loved technology (Apple products) and appreciated his tech support team, the Romeo boys very much. Fred loved to travel – so many wonderful memories of Hawaii, Ireland, Italy, London and many Caribbean Islands. Performed annually at Madison Square Garden’s horse show for Mounted NYPD. Mounted Commander named a horse after him “Fabulous Fred”, which he was, and always will be.
