Obituary of Jean Claude Leveille

Jean Claude Leveille, son of Andrea Doccous and Handel Leveille was born on January 19, 1944 in Port au Prince, Haiti. He attended most of his schooling in Les Cayes Sud and moved on to a trade school where he majored in Welding. In 1970 Jean Claude married the late Marie Ertha Leveille (born Marie Ertha Dorismond) and they began their lives together. Jean Claude migrated to the United States in February 1970 for a better life and his wife later joined him in April 1971. Brooklyn, NY became their first home and this is where he started his family. Jean Claude continued his career as a welder and worked for major Welding companies for over 30 years. He was extremely proud of his craft and what he was able to design such as clothing rack fixtures, shoe racks among other projects for department stores and malls. In 1985 Jean Claude and his wife moved to Elmont Long Island with their son Gladymir and daughter Daphny and in 1989 they gave birth to their third child, Christina. When not working, Jean Claude enjoyed time with family and friends. He took pride in attending his children’s baseball and softball games and made sure to capture every single moment with a picture. Jean Claude was a creative and humble man. He was able to build anything and always indulged in projects around the house. He devoted his time to his family and was a passionate person. Those that knew Jean Claude knew him for his wit and humor. He is survived by his loving children Gladymir Leveille, Daphny Toussaint, and Christina Leveille, his grandchildren Christopher Toussaint, Ashlee Toussaint, Adrian Leveille, his sister Marie Josette Leveille, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
