Obituary of Phyllis A Toscano

Phyllis Toscano, born on March 2, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Santina LoGelfo and Philip Pepitone, passed away on July 27, 2022 at the age of 74 after a three year battle with cancer. Phyllis is survived by her three children Thomas, Joseph and John as well as Thomas’ wife Kaitlyn and Phyllis’ two grandchildren John and Connor Toscano. Phyllis is also survived by her sister Caroline Geloso and her husband Joseph, their children Christina and Joseph as well as her brother Salvatore and his wife Carol, their children Pamela and Dyanna and her other brother Joseph and his wife Ellie, their children Jason and Morgan. Phyllis grew up in Valley Stream New York. She was married on October 20, 1971 to Angelo Toscano and lived in Malverne NY where they raised their three children. Phyllis was a dual citizen of Italy and the United States and was proud of both her heritage and country she lived in.Phyllis was a devoted and caring mother, who would always go out of her way to help those around her. She wouldn’t go a day without speaking with her family and loved ones. Growing up in a large Italian community, family was very important and she always exuded those values and instilled them in her children. Phyllis was a strong and independent woman – she tackled any job that was necessary and worked a variety of different fields in her professional career. Throughout the challenges life put in front of her, she found her confidence and strength which defined her as a person and which she carried through her final battle with cancer that took her back home to God. She will be incredibly missed by those who knew her. For the lives she touched, we will carry her love with us in our heart and memories and how our lives are better for having had her be a part of our own. Visitation will be held on Monday August 1, 2022 at 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00, at Krauss Funeral Home, 1097 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, New York. A Mass will be celebrated in memory of Phyllis on Tuesday August 2, 2022 at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 65 Wright Ave, Malverne, NY 11565.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/srch/donate-in-honor-or-memory.html
