Obituary of Rose Therese Leconte

The first seed of faith was planted 74 years ago when Rose Therese Marietta Leconte was born to her loving parents, Rene Leconte and Louise Garcon, on the quiet night of May 27, 1948, in the city of Bassin Bleu, Northwest Haiti. Raised as a Christian, she attended Wisdom Sisters School and Saint Francis Xavier College in Port de Paix Rose was the oldest of 11 children, and she made it her priority to help her parents with her siblings’ necessities. Being the family bedrock, all the siblings sought advice and counseling from her. She took pride in helping others. Her brilliant self started working in Haiti very early; however, the family essentials were immense. Her salary was dismal; consequently, she decided to seek an opportunity outside of Haiti, leading to New York City. Rose migrated to the U.S, precisely New York City, in 1977. Life in New York was not as promising as everyone back in Haiti thought. Moving from tropical Haiti to frigid New York was a bit perplexed and challenging, even worst for a single mother with a newborn. She was working multiple jobs to sustain her needs in New York and helping the family back home as was promising. On February 19th, the lord has called for Rose to come home. She left in mourning her dearest companion Edgar Lafontant, her children Sklodoska (Steve) Traversiere, Keens (Berline) Leconte, and Wosny Lambre; her grandchildren Camille Leconte, Angelica Leconte, Kenya Leconte, Ella Leconte, Aveline Traversiere, Anabelle Traversiere; her mother Louise Leconte; her siblings Lorette Leconte, Yolie Romulus, Marguy (Jean) Simon, Mireille (Samuel) Maxime, Ludenie (Alain) Zephyr, Addy (Yvette) Vilamar, Darlin (Imene) Leconte, Alex Leconte, Louis-Rene Leconte; her nephews and nieces Marc Thomas Michelot, Rose Nella Cherisol, Lendz Norvil, Mackelly Norvil, Stacy Joseph, Igeoma Simon, Edwina Barkley, Pascal Polica, Gregory Romulus, Jean-Guardy Vilamar, Gaelle Vilamar, Jennyka Vilamar, Theodora Arthur, Fauvre Arthur, Gedeon Maxime, Naila Zephyr, Andy Zephyr, Sophia Zephyr, Baina Leconte, Abdel Leconte, Sarah Leconte, Jessey Leconte, Thomas Leconte, Sneygouka Leconte, Smylex Leconte, Christelle Leconte. Rose was a vibrant soul, one who lit up the room whenever she entered. She was full of life, she was energetic, and she was downright fun. She was full of joy and always eager to help, no matter the problem. Most importantly, she had an eternal love for her family. The family wishes to express deep and heartfelt appreciation for your loving thoughtfulness and concerns. We have received countless phone calls, e-mails, texts, flowers, meals, visits, and thoughts and prayers. They have been both comforting during this difficult time and have been a reminder of Rose's impact on so many others.
