Rosario Ortiz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1939, and migrated to New York City in 1954. There, she met Vicente, the man who would become her husband of 66 years and father of their daughter, Maria.
Rosie, as she preferred to be called, was a stay-at-home mom initially and then worked as a home health aide for 20 years.
She loved to dance and sing. Rosie sang in the shower, or while cooking, all the time belting out her favorite classic Latin ballads. She always welcomed surprise visitors for whom she prepared impromptu meals.
Rosie will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, and daughter, her sister Alicia, numerous nieces & nephews, who were always caring and attentive, and the close friends who she regarded as family
