Obituary of Thomas E Lund

Thomas Eric Lund, known as Tommy to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on Friday November 19 at the age of 66. Tommy was born in Queens, NY on April 29, 1955. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlotte Tooher and Thomas F. Lund, Jr. Tommy spent many an hour watching his beloved sports teams, particularly his favorite, St. John's Red Storm basketball. He enjoyed his summers at the beach, but mostly he loved his friends and family, his wife, children and grandchildren as well as his sister, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Helen (Stanczuk) Lund; his daughter Jessica White and her husband Russell; his son Jared Hyatt, and his daughter Patricia Lund. Three grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah and Gia; and his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Lund Grady and her husband Tim. He was predeceased by his sisters Nancy Lund Owens and Susan Ann Lund. Calling hours areTuesday,11/23 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Krauss Funeral Home, 1097 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning 10:30am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 33 New Hyde Park Road, Franklin Square, NY. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to 3strohm.org, an organization near and dear to Tommy's wife Helen and the family.
