Irene Joan Wojcicki passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 56 years old.
Irene found great joy in the simplest pleasures in life. Whether enjoying a night out at a new restaurant with her special friends or a lazy weekend at her country house with her family, Irene always took the time to
appreciate life’s small moments. She also was known for her spitfire personality and constantly brought smiles and laughter to those around her.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helene, who passed away from COVID-19 in 2020. Irene will be forever remembered and loved by her father, George; sisters, Caroline and Yvonne; niece, Stephanie; and nephew, Tommy.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., at Krauss Funeral Home in Franklin Square, New York. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Astoria, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the name of Irene Wojcicki may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
